Pantiliners are perfect for every day use. They are good for absorbing the yellowish, whitish or brownish discharge that is totally normal for girls and women to have. They are also great for wearing with a tampon while on your period since they give you some extra protection. A pantyliner is something that you could wear every day and you would be totally comfortable.
A pad on the other hand is used more for when you are on your period. It can be used alone, or it can be coupled with a tampon if you have a heavy period. A pad can also be worn together with a tampon when going to sleep, to prevent overnight leaking. A pad is not considered an every day item since it is thicker and more heavy duty than a pantiliner. Even though it is thicker and more heavy duty a pad is still great for when you are on your period or when you are going to sleep and you don’t want to wear a tampon to sleep.
When wearing pantyliners you don’t feel them, since they are very thin and light. But when you wear a pad chances are that you will feel it and it might make you feel uncomfortable. Since pads are thicker you might feel as if people can see your pad through your pants. The truth is, they can’t see it. But the advantage of pantyliners is that you don’t get that uncomfortable feeling that you could sometimes get from pads. Since pantyliners are so thin and light they don’t do quite as much work as a pad does. Choosing a pad or a pantyliner just depends on what you think is right for you.
Basically think of a pantyliner as an every day item and a pad as a item to be used once your period comes.
